7 February 2010
Today was a good day. No a GREAT day.
At exactly this time last year we started putting together the band that would eventually become Molly's Chamber. We worked hard, gradually found the right players for the band, started a sucessful gigging schedule beginning in July 2009 (within only a few weeks of adding Chris to the group), and were on top of the world ready to play our biggest gig yet on New Years Eve at the Holloman AFB NCO club. Only a month before the gig, disaster struck. Due to circumstances beyond his control, Chris was out of action indefinately. In fact we did not know if Chris would ever be able to play with us again. JC, our original bass player, quit the band suddenly about one month later.
Despite the uncertainty facing us, the remaining members (Matt, Glenn, April & Jason), decided to keep practicing, change our name to Molly's Chamber, and to start looking for a new bass player. It's a long story, but we were hoping that Chris's situation would resolve itself and we were detirmined to wait for him while he tried to work on it.
On January 27th 2010 Chris got in touch with us and let us know that he was back in action and ready to beat the hell out of some drums. Today we played with and added Ekki to the Molly's Chamber family. And that's really what we are, as korny as it may sound. We've been through some serious tough times as a band. We've pulled together and looked out for our bandmates through thick and thin. And now we're a full band again, back together and stronger than ever, and ready to lay some serious heavy groove on Alamogordo and anywhere else we can play.
Ekki is a friend some of us have known casually for awhile and who Chris has known and jammed with for years. He's an extremely talented bass player, and more importantly a really great person who fits in with the rest of us like.... well.... beer and bratwurst. We're all excited to be playing together and tonights rehearsal couldn't have gone any better if Steve Harris himself had sat in
To our friends and family who've supported us through it all.... we'd like to say a heartfelt thankyou. We couldn't have done this without your support and help.
Take Care all and we look forward to rocking your socks off at our next gig!
